Adult Education

We believe that lifelong learning is at least as important in our spiritual lives as in any other part of our life. Our primary Adult Education offering is at 10:10AM on Sunday mornings.  Join us between services in the Upper Room of the Christian Education Building.

We engage with a variety of topics over the course of a year—Bible study, theological education, spiritual growth, mission opportunities, and practical teaching about relationships, families, and other needs of the congregation.

We are proud to offer accomplished teachers, including our pastor Larry Grounds, and Claudia Grauf-Grounds, who is Chair of the Marriage and Family Therapy Department at Seattle Pacific University.

We also offer a special series by an outside teacher at least once a year.

Our current and upcoming sessions:

Meaning in the Mainstream
Presented by Mary Hilke and Brad Steeples
Prayer Library at 10:10

Meaning in the Mainstream is a new class that focuses on movies, music and other popular culture, and how we can apply them to our spiritual lives. Similar in feel to one of our weekly small groups, this class will be interactive and discussion oriented.

Visit the class website for upcoming topics, interesting links and to continue our class discussions.  http://groups.msn.com/MeaningintheMainstream

Our lessons will primarily alternate between music and movies. For a music lesson, just bring your ears and an open mind. Even if the music style is not your favorite, the poetry of the lyrics is what we will focus on. For a movie lesson, we encourage you to watch the movie during the week before the lesson, even if you have seen it before. Due to our limited time, we will only be able to show short clips, and we would like it to be fresh in your mind.
